'I want a man who is kind and understanding. Is that too much to ask from a millionaire?' Zsa Zsa Gabor wasn't kidding either. She had several rich husbands to be kind to her. So why worry about where your next diamond is coming from. There are famous eligible bachelors galore from rock to royalty. It's just a case of finding your type.
The movie star
Now that Hollywood A-list hunk Brad Pitt, 41, is just friends with Jennifer Aniston, millions of ladies everywhere can dream of being in with a chance. Could you be the girl who can help him and his £100 million fortune get over his broken marriage?
It may already be too late to bag one of Britain's favourite posh hunks. Hugh Grant, 42 is now in the arms of Jemima Khan. The multi-millionaire is said to a have a small fortune stashed away from film work but doesn't mind spending it - he races around London in a £158,000 Aston Martin.
Irish bad boy Colin Farrell, 26, was probably gutted when he was turned down after an audition to join a new Irish boyband called Boyzone. But he is now one of the busiest and richest young stars in Hollywood. The Ballykissangel actor made £10 million from films in 2004 alone. His first marriage lasted four months and he is now a single Dad to baby son James.
He's talk, dark and handsome and has a thing for British beauties. What more could want from a multi-millionaire? George Clooney, 41 tops dozens of polls for the world's sexiest man and still manages to give the impression that he would be nice to your grandmother. 'Ah Clooney,' sighed Carrie in Sex and the City. 'Clooney is like a Chanel suit - he'll never go out of style'.
The business star
David Ross, 39, left accountancy giant Arthur Anderson to set up Carphone Warehouse with university friend Charles Dunstone in 1989. In 2000, he sold 12% of his shares in the firm for £39 million and is said to be worth £400 million in total. Although he has never married and is not engaged, his love life certainly has a busy tone - he has one child with girlfriend Shelley Ross who happens to have the same surname. He divides his time between a 90-room country mansion in Leicestershire and his home in Switzerland, where he lives as a tax exile.
The sports star
Formula 1 supremo Eddie Irvine has it all - good looks, a jet-set lifestyle and plenty of cash. The racing star, from Conlig, Co Down, has now retired but is estimated to worth £150million. The 37-year-old bachelor owns a yacht, planes, a helicopter and a collection of sports cars. And he was almost as famous for his playboy lifestyle as his driving skills. Much of his wealth was invested in properties all over the world, including a £26million pad in Killiney, Dublin.
David Beckham may be off limits but Wayne Rooney has yet to make a honest woman of girlfriend Colleen. The 19-year old earns an astonishing £50,000 a week from his England and Manchester United footwork. Just don't expect him to spend it on fine art and antiques.
The rock star
Robbie Williams is still looking for the right woman. Not that there would be any shortage of takers within his army of female fans. Despite this, he has confessed to cruising bars to meet women. Accepting the Best Male Solo Artist award at the Brits 2004 via video link from LA, he said: 'Twenty-nine-year-old Aquarian, slightly chubby, chain-smoking, seeks boy or girl for fun nights of poker and AA meetings.' A string of hits during and after Take That made him one of Stoke's wealthiest men. He signed an £80 million, four-album contract in 2002. Despite an engagement to ex-All Saint Nicole Appleton and dalliances with Anna Friel and Geri Halliwell, the cheeky star is still looking for his own angel.
The TV star
Make friends with Matthew Perry and expect to drink Champagne instead of Central Perk cappuccinos. The 33-year old made £620,000 an episode during the 10th series of the smash sitcom Friends and stands to rake in a further £6 million from Friends: The movie.
Cheeky TV duo Ant and Dec are both 29 but make grown-up salaries of £2 million each from their Saturday Night Takeaway and I'm a Celebrity shows. If you like high-waisted trousers then their Pop Idol buddy Simon Cowell may be more your style, as will his £45 million bank balance. Another music business millionaire is Simon Fuller. He may have given us the Spice Girls but don't be too hard on 44-year-old Simon. His company 19 Management has earned him £220 million.
The royal stars
If you missed your chance to net an heir to the throne now that Charles is betrothed to Camilla, then look to the next generation. Princes William and Harry have the looks, the athletic physiques and the ability to make you a princess, or even a queen. Sigh. Just think of all the jewels.
A couple of golden oldies
Surely the ultimate bachelor boy, Cliff Richard is still single at 65 and said to have a personal fortune of £60 million from a super-successful singing career spanning 5 decades. If you like tennis and sparkly suits, he could be the answer to your Millennium Prayer.
Shrinking violets need not apply to date porn-king bachelor David Sullivan. The 55-year old has made a £550 million fortune from sex shops and also owns The Sunday Sport and Birmingham City football club. Expect to be wined and dined and er...talk about football at his Essex mansion.
