The Group sells its popular brands, such as Ovomaltine, Ryvita biscuits, Nelsons jam and Twinings tea, in supermarkets. It also has its subsidiaries, British Sugar, the leading sugar producer, Allied Grain, which develops food for our animal friends and Abitec Corporation, in the USA, selling food ingredients to the industrial sector.ABF also runs two major chain stores in Ireland and the UK, Penneys and Primark, which mainly sell apparel and operates George Weston Foods in Australia and New Zealand. ABF is a Group that counts. The proof: in mid-April 2002 it bought up 19 North American food brands from the Unilever Group. As a result, ABF is on the way to becoming the number 1 in distribution. |
