FIRST-TIME BUYERS

Key Workers Homes

What is the Key Worker Living Scheme?

The Key Worker Living scheme was launched in the spring of 2004, replacing the Starter Home Initiative. The aim of the scheme is to help with the retention and recruitment of key workers.

The scheme helps people buy their first home, or move into a family home. There may also be opportunities available to rent homes at affordable prices.

The Government has designated 'Zone agents' (see below), which act as one-stop shops for information and can arrange help if needed. They are registered social landlords and you should make your application directly to them.

For a comprehensive list of registered social landlords, visit the Housing Corporation .

To enquire about social housing schemes in your area, contact your local housing authority, listed under State Services at the front of the telephone directory.
