Friday tips round-up: Unilever, Vedanta, Millennium & Copthorne - Fri 06 Nov, 06:56 AM [ ShareCast]
After years of being the black sheep of the consumer products family, Unilever is starting to deliver on its strategy.

Thursday tips round-up: Logica, Rightmove, Aviva - Thu 05 Nov, 06:04 AM [ ShareCast]
Most companies are looking at any way to cut costs during the downturn, which puts a company like Logica, one of the biggest UK-listed IT service providers, in a strong position. Yet, analysts fear that profit growth will not be huge next year and Evolution Securities rates the stock at 11.7 times prospective full-year earnings, which puts it in line with its peers. Probably worth holding for now, says the Independent.

Wednesday tips round-up: Lloyds, Barclays, Stagecoach - Wed 04 Nov, 06:53 AM [ ShareCast]
The Telegraph says investors in UK banks had a lot to digest on Tuesday, what with the confirmation of Lloyds' £13.5bn rights issue and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) coming back to the taxpayer cap in hand and the asset sales forced upon the banks by European regulators.

Tuesday tips round-up: Telecity, Ryanair, Vantis - Tue 03 Nov, 06:55 AM [ ShareCast]
Telecity designs, builds and operates data centres — warehouses, if you like, albeit ones that contain racks of computers that require vast power supplies and links to multiple telecoms carriers.

Sunday tips round-up: Autonomy,Topps Tiles, H&T - Sun 01 Nov, 03:44 PM [ ShareCast]
Autonomy's ability to turn earnings into cash has been a point of great debate this year. The company appeared to silence its critics at the third-quarter results, when it announced a cash conversion rate - calculated as Q3 operating cash flow over Q3 earnings - of 131pc, which it duly trumpeted throughout its presentation.

Friday tips round-up: AstraZeneca, Kazakhmys, Standard Life - Fri 30 Oct, 06:15 AM [ ShareCast]
AstraZeneca posted a sparkling set of third-quarter results on Thursday, sending analysts scurrying away to upgrade their numbers. Pre-tax profits rocketed by 24pc, on revenues up 5pc. On closer inspection, however, the results were flattered by a series of
one-off gains. The Telegraph recommended holding on to the shares in February for the hefty dividend. Now is the time to sell before the competition from generics really starts to bite. Sell.

Thursday tips round-up: GlaxoSmithKline, Prudential, BG - Thu 29 Oct, 06:53 AM [ ShareCast]
Andrew Witty, the chief executive of GlaxoSmithKline, said in July that he did not know whether the drugs giant expected to make a lot of money from swine flu. The company's third-quarter results and outlook have banished any doubt that it has.

Wednesday tips round-up: ARM, Reckitt Benckiser, Cineworld - Wed 28 Oct, 06:00 AM [ ShareCast]
ARM Holdings cheered investors yesterday when it outstripped consensus estimates on its profits before exceptional charges at a time when the semi-conductor sector is suffering as a result of massively reduced demand for gadgets and consumer electronics.

Tuesday tips round-up: UK Coal, Centamin Egypt, H&T - Tue 27 Oct, 06:57 AM [ ShareCast]
Britain's largest coal miner gave a sombre update yesterday with the news of another death at one of its mines. The fatality at its Kellingley mine has halted production for a week. UK Coal also has more than 40,000 acres of land, where it used to have working mines. Much of the land is agricultural, which is expected to double in value in the next five years.

Sunday tips round-up: Cape, Alumasc, Cranswick - Sun 25 Oct, 11:53 AM [ ShareCast]
The share price of mining, chemical and energy services group Cape continues to recover, after the market priced the group for total failure earlier this year. The Telegraph's Questor expects to hear news of more contract wins in the coming months, especially in the Middle East. Buy.
