Shares of Chinese Internet search company Baidu Inc rose in
premarket trade on Tuesday, after the company reported adjusted first-quarter
earnings that beat expectations. It also posted quarterly revenue that was
ahead of consensus.

The stock gained 2.3 percent to $230 before the bell on the Nasdaq (NASDAQ: news) while
Sohu.com shares gained 0.9 percent to $51.00. U.S. Internet search
company Google (NASDAQ: GOOG - news) was down 0.5 percent to $383.95 before the bell.
