Shares in AstraZeneca up 2 percent, outperforming a flat European
drugs sector, after settling a patent dispute with Teva over
asthma drug Pulmicort, delaying the launch of further generics until late 2009.
WestLB analyst Simon Mather says generic shipped by Teva last week amounts
to some three months supply, which will hit AstraZeneca's fourth-quarter and
first-quarter 2009 revenues. For the remainder of 2009 he sees sales of about
$250 million a quarter.
