11:40GMT 25Feb2009-Q-Cells drops, analysts cite weaker demand
-------------------------------------------------------------
Shares in German Q-Cells, the world's largest maker of solar
cells, drops 4.7 percent, reversing Tuesday's strong gains, as analysts point to
continuing uncertainty over industry demand for solar cells.
Q-Cells soared on Tuesday after it slashed its 2009 sales outlook for the
second time within less than three months, boosted by rumours it may merge with
Norway's Renewable Energy Corp.
'As visibility remains very poor at this point in time with demand appearing
to be substantially weak, while panel producers and thus cell customers of
Q-Cells seem to struggle heavily, we continue to remain cautious for the
time-being,' Equinet writes in a note.
