Slovak inflation around peak, c.bank chief says
PRAGUE (Reuters (LSE: TRIL.L - news) ) - Slovak inflation should start falling in the coming period, central bank chief Ivan Sramko said on Tuesday.
'Our estimates say that now inflation -- it is around 4 percent -- should be moving around the ceiling. It should gradually start falling due to base effects and due to other factors,' he said in an interview on Czech Television. 'All depends of course on how energy and food prices develop.'
Slovakia will adopt the euro next year. The Slovak central bank left the main interest rate flat at 4.25 percent earlier on Tuesday. (Reporting by Jan Lopatka; editing by David Stamp) Keywords: SLOVAKIA SRAMKO/
