BoE's Posen-will have to reverse stimulus in medium term
LONDON, Oct 23 (Reuters) - The Bank of England will have to reverse its extraordinary stimulus measures in the medium term but policymakers are being very cautious for now, Monetary Policy Committee member Adam Posen said in a radio interview.
'In the medium term, meaning more than six months out, there's no question that we're going to have to reverse the extreme policy measures that we took,' he told BBC Radio Scotland in an interview broadcast on Friday.
But he said policymakers were being very cautious.
'The reason for very, in very cautious is because there are high stakes involved. It's not because things are that knife-edge or that uncertain but it's that you don't want to make a big mistake.
'So we on the MPC (A050540.KQ - news) are being very cautious,' he said. Keywords: BRITAIN BANK/POSEN
