Acambis shares temporarily suspended

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Acambis Plc. said that the Financial Services Authority has temporarily suspended its shares from the official list of the London Stock Exchange (LSE: LSE.L -

href="http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q/h?s=LSE.L">news) effective Sept 23 at its request, pending an announcement.

On Sept. 9, Acambis (LSE: ACM.L - news) shareholders approved its acquisition by Sanofi Pasteur Holding at 190 pence in cash per share, valuing Acambis' issued share capital at about 276 million pounds.

Sanofi Pasteur is a unit of Sanofi (Paris: FR0000120578 - news) -Aventis.

Accordingly Acambis' shares will be delisted with effect from Sept 25, after the scheme court approved the company's merger by Sanofi Pasteur Holding.
