Nomura to issue 716 million new shares

TOKYO, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Nomura Holdings Inc (N33.SI - news) , Japan's biggest brokerage, said on Monday it will issue 716 million new shares, as part of an earlier announced plan to shore up its capital base after soured investments and acquiring parts of Lehman Brothers (NYSE: LEH - news) .

Nomura shares closed at 463 yen.
