EADS buys US emergency response solutions co PlantCML for $350 million
LONDON (Thomson Financial) - European aerospace and defence company EADS (Paris: NL0000235190 - news) has announced the acquisition
of California-based PlantCML, a provider of emergency response solutions, from Golden Gate Capital, a San Francisco-based private equity fund, for about $350 million.
The company said that based on the underlying profitability of PlantCML, the acquisition is EPS accretive on a pre fair-value amortisation basis in the first year.
Synergies between the companies are expected to create additional value in the following year, it said.
The acquisition was made through US operating subsidiary EADS North America and it will become part of the North American business portfolio, it said.
PlantCML provides core management and radio despatch products for emergency call centres along with emergency notification services, computer aided despatch applications and mapping services.
Ralph D Crosby Jnr, chairman and CEO of EADS North America said: 'The resources of PlantCML are a perfect match with our growing homeland security and public safety activity, which already include turn-key professional mobile radio system and network security training.'
