Nigeria renews three ExxonMobil oil licences

ABUJA, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Nigeria on Friday renewed three shallow water oil licences jointly operated with Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM - news) , granting the U.S. energy firm leases of a further 20 years with the option to renew again.

'Today we have reached an agreement on the terms of new leases that will go on for a further 20 years with an option to renew,' junior oil minister Odein Ajumogobia told reporters in the capital Abuja.

The leases expired in November (Frankfurt: A0Z24E - news) 2008 and were originally given to Exxon in 1968.
