EpiStem raises 1.07 mln stg to accelerate gene expression biomarker technology

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - EpiStem Holdings PLC said it has raised about 1.07 mln stg via a placing of 653,806 shares at 1.63 stg each, to accelerate the development of its high-sensitivity gene expression biomarker technology.

The
biotechnology company said its existing shareholders Calculus Capital Ltd and Helium Special Situations Fund took up 306,903 placing shares each, while New Star Asset Management picked up the remaining 40,000 shares.

EpiStem said it has developed the biomarker platform to identify drug-induced changes in gene expression for application in preclinical and clinical drug development.
