after China rally, ahead of data

U.S. stock index futures edged higher on Thursday following a rally in
Chinese equities and ahead of data expected to show that jobless claims fell
after a surprise increase in the prior period.

Dow Jones industrial average futures rose 11 points, while S&P 500
futures gained 2.8 points, and Nasdaq 100 (NASDAQ: news) futures were up 1.25
points.
