Gartmore hire Roberts from Aviva
Dan Roberts, manager of the Aviva Investors UK Equity Income Fund, has left the firm to join Gartmore where from mid-July he will assume responsibility for the Gartmore UK Equity Income Fund.The current manager of the Gartmore UK Equity Income Fund

is Chris Burvill, who will focus on his role running the Gartmore Cautious Managed Fund.This is an intriguing move because Dan Roberts has been building a good reputation on the back of some strong relative performance at Aviva. If he can adapt well to his new environment it could be a very beneficial change for investors in the Gartmore fund. However, only time will tell and at present our view is that investors in the Gartmore UK Equity Income Fund should continue to hold.Mr Roberts will be replaced as manager of the Aviva fund by Chris Murphy.
