TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC (NYSE: TXN - news) , $24.85, down 3.5 pct
Bank of America (NYSE: IKJ - news) -Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER - news) lowered its 2010 growth forecast for the global semiconductor industry and downgraded 10 chipmakers, including Intel, citing the potential for a correction in inventory levels.
SUNTECH POWER HOLDINGS CO LTD, $16.17, up 7.2 pct
TRINA SOLAR LTD, $45.57, up 6.9 pct
Both companies reported better-than-expected results and said demand for clean energy systems was rebounding after a dismal year.
COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO, $83.98, down 2.2 pct
The consumer products maker expects sales volume to grow between 4 percent and 7 percent next year, driven largely by surging demand in emerging markets like Brazil, China, India and Russia, its chief executive said on the sidelines of an economic forum in China.
Colgate and Britain's Reckitt Benckiser (LSE: RB.L - news) declined to address speculation about a possible link-up, and analysts were skeptical of a deal between the two. and
GENERAL ELECTRIC CO, $15.68, down 2.6 pct
GE expects anemic 2010 revenue growth for its technology infrastructure segment as the United States and Europe remain mired in an economic downturn, signaling the worst is not over yet for the conglomerate.
Also, Vivendi SA's chief financial officer said it is close to selling its stake in NBC Universal but its board hasn't made a decision yet. A decision is crucial to plans by GE, which owns the rest of NBC Universal, to form a joint venture with Comcast Corp.
SEARS HOLDING CORP, $72.38, down 4.5 pct
The retailer posted a narrower quarterly loss as same-store sales at its Kmart discount unit rose for the first time in four years.
CF INDUSTRIES HOLDINGS INC, $82.40, down 4.5 pct
AGRIUM INC (NEW YORK LISTED) $56.25, down 1.1 pct
Fertilizer maker Agrium (AGU.TO - news) said 62 percent of CF Industries' shares have been tendered in favor of its hostile bid, but a different vote later in the week is more likely to determine the outcome of the drawn-out takeover battle.
NETAPP INC, $30.99, up 4.6 pct
Two brokerages raised price targets on the data storage equipment maker's stock. JPMorgan raised its target to $31.50 from $27, and Barclays (LSE: BARC.L - news) upped its target to $34 from $31.
WILLIAMS-SONOMA INC, $21.87, up 4 pct
The operator of the Williams-Sonoma cookware and Pottery Barn furnishings chains reported higher-than-expected quarterly profit and raised its full-year forecast amid cost cuts and a move to offer lower-priced home goods.
