EBay rolls out Bill Me Later to eBay, PayPal sites
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 19 (Reuters) - EBay Inc (NASDAQ: EBAY - news) said on Monday its Bill Me Later deferred payment option would now be available
for both eBay and PayPal, just in time for the holiday selling season.
EBay has spent the past year integrating Bill Me Later, which it hopes will lure buyers who need immediate credit.
The service, which the company purchased last fall, offers one-time deferred payment options to consumers. It is carried by such major retailers as Toys R Us, Zappos.com, Petco and Wal-Mart.
The San Jose, California-based company has always planned to incorporate Bill Me Later with eBay, which offers fixed-price and auction-type sales, and with its fast-growing online payments service PayPal.
Last fall, eBay said Bill Me Later would generate some $150 million of revenue this year.
The company reports third-quarter results on Wednesday.
