UK May provisional M4 up 0.4 percent vs April, 10.0 percent yr-on-yr - BoE

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - UK money supply growth eased slightly in May, but remained strong, while M4 lending slowed significantly, provisional figures from the Bank of England showed.

M4 money supply growth rose by 0.4 percent in May from April and by 10.0 percent year-on-year.

This follows rises of 0.5 and 11.0 percent respectively in April.

Meanwhile, M4 lending in May grew by just 4.8 billion pounds, down sharply from the strong growth of 28.8 billion pounds in April.
