Factory wage deals at record low in May
LONDON (Reuters) - Average pay deals in the manufacturing sector fell to a record low of 0.8 percent in the three months to May, the Engineering Employers' Federation said on Thursday.
The fall, from 3.1 percent in the same period last year, took pay growth to its lowest level since the survey began in 1987.
Just over 65 percent of companies said they froze pay in the latest three-month period, the highest since the survey began.
