Shares in Alliance Pharma Plc rise as much as 14 percent after the company announces a six-fold increase rise in 2008 pretax profit on demand for its dermatology products and says it expects to pay a maiden dividend this year.
Numis Securities, which has a 'buy' recommendation on the stock and a target price of 11 pence, cites the company's healthy performance enabling it to pay down 1.9 million pounds of debt.
The brokerage says: 'We expect Alliance to comfortably meet its circa 2 million pounds per annum fixed repayment schedule, and on present form appears likely to roll over the 14 million pounds bullet payment, due 2012.'.
