The FTSE Small Cap index is steady in midday trade, in line with the
midcaps, while the blue chips shed 0.9 percent.
Fashion retailer and wholesaler French Connection (LSE: FCCN.L - news) falls more than 7
percent after it posts a full-year underlying pretax loss of 5.5 million pounds
against a profit of 3.1 million pounds the previous 12 months, and says it is
preparing for another difficult year.
Oil and gas company BowLeven (LSE: BLVN.L - news) skyrockets over 150 percent after
saying it has received an offer approach from an unnamed party pitched at 150
pence, over three and a half times the level of Tuesday's closing price for the
stock of 41 pence per share.
