German stocks - Factors to watch on Feb 18

FRANKFURT, Feb 18 (Reuters) - The DAX top-30 index looked set to open 0.3 percent higher on Wednesday, according to pre-market data from brokers at 0720 GMT.

The following are some of the factors that may move German stocks on
Wednesday (share price indications at 0720 GMT):

COMMERZBANK

Indicated 5.5 percent higher

Commerzbank (Xetra: 803200 - news) reported a smaller-than-expected Q4 operating loss of 822 million euros and said 2009 would be difficult.

Indicated 3.4 percent lower

Merck reported a smaller-than-expected Q4 core operating profit of 306 million euros and said it cannot give an outlook for 2009.

Indicated unchanged

Allianz unit Euler Hermes (Paris: FR0004254035 - news) reported a Q4 net loss of around 68 million euros and cut its dividend after being hit by claims linked to the collapse of UK retailer Woolworths (Munich: 886853 - news) .
