LONDON (AFP) - British aircraft-engine maker Rolls-Royce said on Monday that it had secured orders worth two billion dollars (1.33 billion euros) from Air China and Ethiopian Airlines.

The London-listed group had already announced both orders on the first day of the Dubai Airshow on Sunday.

Air China will spend 1.5 billion dollars on Trent 700 engines for its 20 A330 long-haul jets, Rolls-Royce confirmed in an official statement to the London Stock Exchange (LSE: LSE.L - news) on Monday.

"Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has won an order for Trent 700 engines to power 20 Air China Airbus A330 aircraft," it said.

"The contract, worth 1.5 billion dollars at list prices, includes long-term TotalCare service support."

Ethiopian Airlines is spending 480 million dollars on Trent XWB for Airbus A350 planes on order, it added in a separate release.

"Ethiopian Airlines has ordered Trent XWB engines worth 480 million dollars at list prices," Rolls said.

"This order takes sales of the Trent XWB, the fastest-selling Trent engine, past 1,000."
