Oil price hits record high 114.49 dollars

LONDON (AFP) - The price of New York oil on Wednesday struck a historic peak at 114.49 dollars per barrel, winning support as the US currency tumbled to an all-time low against the euro, traders said.

At the same time, London's Brent North Sea crude hit a record high at 112.31 dollars.
