Lexicon Pharmaceuticals Inc (LEXG - news) said its drug to treat type 2 diabetes
showed positive results in an early-stage trial, prompting it to initiate
mid-stage trials for the candidate.
The company's experimental LX4211, an orally-delivered drug, was well
tolerated at all dose levels and produced a dose-dependent increase in urinary
glucose excretion, the biopharmaceutical company said.
