ICE securities exchange shut down due to power failure

CHICAGO (AP) - The Intercontinental Exchange was shut down Thursday morning by a power failure at its primary data center in Chicago, the securities exchange said.

All ICE markets were closed and all orders were suspended in a shutdown that was initially expected to last an hour, the Atlanta-based exchange said on its Web site.

No further details were immediately available.

A phone message left with ICE headquarters was not immediately returned. The Chicago center was unable to accept calls due to the power failure.
