Never leave phones unattended at a bar or in a car
Avoid using your mobile phone when you are walking in the street after dark
Inform your mobile phone network operator as soon as you can if you have suffered a theft and report the theft to the police.

Make a note of your phone's unique 15-digit identifier - the IMEI number. (You can get your IMEI by keying in *#06# on your mobile.)
If you do have your phone stolen immediately report it stolen to the police and your network operator - the number 08701 123 123 is for reporting all stolen phones across all the UK networks.
