LONDON (Thomson Financial) - The board of British Airways Plc. will meet this week to decide whether it should award a performance bonus of more than 600,000 pounds to Chief Executive Willie Walsh in the wake of the chaotic launch of Heathrow's
new Terminal 5, The Guardian reported, without citing sources.

The board meeting will be Thursday, the day before BA's full-year results are released, and will be the first full meeting of the directors since problems with baggage systems at T5 caused the airline to cancel hundreds of flights and left it with thousands of unclaimed bags, according to the newspaper.

Walsh will be in line for the payout, equal to one year's salary, if BA's annual results meet City forecasts, The Guardian said.
