Hochtief's Budapest Airport says passenger numbers up 4 pct in 2007

BUDAPEST (Thomson Financial) - Hochtief AG (Xetra: 607000 - news) 's Budapest Airport saw passenger numbers up an annualised 4 pct
to 8.6 mln in 2007, BA said today.

The number of flights at the airport was down 2.1 pct, to 124,298, as airlines carried more passengers on larger aircraft, the company said.

The number of passengers travelling with budget airlines was stagnant at 2.2 mln, while conventional carriers saw passenger numbers up 5 pct to 5.2 bln.

Hochtief acquired Budapest Airport from Spain's Grupo Ferrovial SA (Madrid: FER.MC - news) last year and says it will boost passenger numbers at Hungary's only major international airport with its 261 mln eur investment project.
