Fortis offers first ABN Amro investment product to Belgian customers
BRUSSELS (Thomson Financial) - Fortis Retail Bank, part of Belgo-Dutch bancassurer Fortis NV, said it is launching a new product, the ABN Amro World Bank Eco-3Plus Note; this is the first ABN investment product it has launched three months after
it bought Dutch peer ABN Amro NV (Amsterdam: AABA.AS - news) .
The ABN Amro World Bank Eco-3 Plus Note has a six-year term and pays a variable annual coupon of 3-10 pct, depending on the performance of the ABN Amro Eco Index.
This index is made up of companies engaged in alternative energy, clean water, waste processing and carbon reduction.
The Note is issued by the World Bank which also guarantees that the principal is returned to investors on maturity.
