Alcatel-Lucent wins IP network contract from Romania's Teletrans

PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Alcatel (Paris: FR0000130007 - news) -Lucent said it has won a contract to supply its IP/multi protocol label
switching technology to Teletrans, the communications subsidiary of Romania's power transmission company Transelectrica.

Alcatel-Lucent said the 'multi-million euro contract' will form the basis of Teletrans' nation-wide network expansion and optimisation.

The company plans to 'expand the capacity of its existing optical network to provide wide national coverage and meet anticipated future growth requirements,' Alcatel-Lucent said.

Alcatel-Lucent will also take care of installation, deployment, integration, testing, training and maintenance as part of the contract.
