LONDON (ShareCast) - Nick Prettejohn is quitting his job as chief executive of Prudential's UK and Europe business after three and a half years in the role, having missed out on the top job earlier this year.
He'll leave the
insurer in September, making way for Lloyds Banking (LSE:
LLOY.L -
news) man Rob Devey, a former
insurance and retail banking executive at HBOS.
Prettejohn lost out on the CEO position to Pru's finance head Tidjane Thiam when former boss Mark Tucker announced his decision to go.
Thiam, 46, hired from rival Aviva (LSE: AV.L - news) a year ago, will become the first black boss of a FTSE 100 company when he takes the helm on 1 October.
It's thought that Prettejohn could replace Standard Life (LSE: SL.L - news) boss Sir Sandy Crombie.
In March, Crombie announced his intention to leave the Scottish life group, though no timetable for his departure has been set.
