Uniq's Warburton to step down as chairman

LONDON (ShareCast) - Ross Warburton has resigned as chairman of the chilled foods group Uniq (LSE: UNIQ.L - news) for personal reasons,
the firm announced.

John Warren, a senior non-executive director at the firm, will serve as interim chairman until a permanent successor is appointed.

Warburton, a former chairman of the family bakery business Warburtons, joined the Uniq board as deputy chairman in June 2006, and became chairman in January 2007.

News of his resignation comes the day after Uniq confirmed it is in advanced talks to sell Marie SAS, its chilled and frozen foods unit in France.
