Greek March merchandise exports down 13.2 pct, imports down 8.8 pct

ATHENS (Thomson Financial) - Greek March merchandise exports were down 13.2 percent to 1.444 billion euros from 1.665 billion euros the previous year, according to provisional figures from the National Statistical Service (NSS).

Over
the 12 months between April 2007 to March 2008, exports eased 0.4 percent year on year.

The NSS said that merchandise imports were also down 8.8 percent to 4.536 billion euros from 4.972 billion euros.

Over the 12 months between April 2007 to March 2008, imports increased 3.7 percent, the NSS added.
