Beacon Roofing Supply 2Q loss wider than analyst estimates; revenue rises
BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. Friday reported a second-quarter net loss of $8.1 million, or 18 cents a share, compared with a loss of $6.3 million, or 14 cents a share, a year earlier.
Analysts polled
by Thomson Reuters (TRI.TO - news) , on average, estimated a loss of 14 cents a share.
Net sales for the three months ended March 31 rose to $304.2 million from $286.9 million in the fiscal second quarter of 2007. Wall Street analysts were, on average, forecasting revenue of $320.9 million.
Shares of the Peabody, Mass.-based roofing materials distributor closed Thursday at $10.90.
