David Cornell joins New Star from BDT Investment Management to work on emerging markets. He will initially bring his knowledge to bear on researching companies in Central and Eastern Europe, but will also contribute to the team’s analysis of other emerging markets.

It is encouraging to see that New Star is taking steps to add expertise to their investment teams following a period when – generally speaking – their funds have struggled. Only time will tell whether the three new additions can integrate successfully into the existing teams, but in our opinion their recruitment should be viewed in a positive light.
