Market overview: FTSE 100 down 71
LONDON (ShareCast) - 1140: Oil, nining and utilities are the sectors to examine if you are looking for gains today. Water group Severn Trent (LSE: SVT.L - news)
is flowing uphill after it said trading has been in line with expectations but its customer debt and cash collection performance remains a "risk" to its outlook for the year. FTSE 100 is down 71 at 5,333.1020: Share prices are holding steady at their lower levels. Enterprise Inns (LSE: ETI.L - news) has toppled Vodafone (LSE: VOD.L - news) as the worst performing Footsie (news) stock. Ukraine-based miner Ferrexpo (LSE: FXPO.L - news) is lower but out-performing the market after it said production in the second quarter of 2008 was on target, with increased output of pellets and a better mix of higher grade pellets. The FTSE 100 down 77 at 5,326. 0935: Leading stocks continue to slide, with Vodafone and Enterprise Inns the two worst performers after trading updates this morning. Oil stocks and miners provide some cheer as commdodity prices move in their favour. A warning from Enterprise Inns over pressure on earnings has added to the gloomy mood. Those two are the worst performers so far. Johnson Mathhey is going well on an upbeat trading update.
