Autodesk decides against rival Flomerics offer

LONDON (ShareCast) - Flomerics (LSE: FLO.L - news) 's hopes for a white knight to see off a bid from Mentor have taken a dent as
US firm Autodesk (NASDAQ: ADSK - news) decided against making a rival offer.

Discussions with Autodesk were announced on 6 June 2008, but have been concluded and Autodesk has decided not to make an offer for the company at this stage, Flomerics said.

The computer testing software group contined to reject the offer from Mentor even so and recommends shareholders alsop continue to reject the offer.

Mentor, which has offered 104p per share cash for Flomerics, yesterday announced acceptances for the offer of 2.19% at the second closing date.
