Iraq Oil Ministry denies deal to export Kurd oil

BAGHDAD, May 8 (Reuters) - The Iraqi Oil Ministry has not granted permission for oil to be exported from fields in the largely autonomous Kurdish region, a ministry official said on Friday, contradicting statements from Kurdish officials.

'So far no deal has been concluded between the two parties,' spokesman Asim Jihad told Reuters the same day that the Kurdistan Regional Government said it would begin exporting oil from its Tawke field on June 1 through an Iraq-Turkey pipeline.
