LONDON (ShareCast) - Some brokers quibble about Vodafone (LSE: VOD.L - news) 's 45% stake in American mobile operator Verizon Wireless.
But this should begin to pay handsome dividends in a year or so and it is growing steadily in the meantime. Shares are trading at 156p, having been almost 200p last year. At this level they represent excellent long-term value and offer a dividend yield of more than 5%. Buy, says the Mail on Sunday.

It (Frankfurt: A0MLX5 - news) 's hard to argue that Thomson Reuters looks cheap, even after the falls this week. Sell, says the Sunday Telegraph.

Rheochem (LSE: RHEP.L - news) has a market value of £28m. This takes no consideration of the company's exploration and production potential and does not even value the services business highly. The stock is not without risk, but it could yield generous rewards over the next year or two, according to the Mail on Sunday.

Although Plant Health Care (LSE: PHC.L - news) has yet to make a profit - and probably won't before 2010 - it has enough cash to keep it going until such time as the products should be in widespread use. This is some years hence, suggesting investors looking for short-term gain should steer clear. But with the fundamentals working in its favour, and few rivals, shareholders have sound long-term prospects. Buy, says the Sunday Telegraph.

The environmental and economic climate are clearly pointing to continued success for Gas Turbine Efficiency (LSE: GTE.L - news) , as oil continues to soar and the environment dominates the political agenda. After years of development, 2008 should prove a breakthrough year for the company, whose operational gearing should ensure healthy earnings growth in years to come. The Sunday Telegraph says buy.

In the long term, one of the main attractions of UK Coal (LSE: UKC.L - news) is its land bank which should offer investors considerable upside. The two parts of the business complement each other and, with strong cash generation, the shares are attractive, says the Sunday Telegraph.
