INSTANT VIEW 1-Greek June inflation steady at 41-yr low
ATHENS, July 7 (Reuters) - Greece's headline consumer price
inflation was steady at a 41-year low of 0.5 percent
year-on-year in June, helped by favourable base effects and
lower energy prices compared to the same month last year.
Data from the country's statistics service (NSS) on Tuesday
showed the lowest reading for inflation since June 1968 and was
in line with economist forecasts. Consumer inflation in June a
year ago was 4.9 percent year-on-year.
Inflation in the 16-nation euro zone dipped into negative
territory for the first time last month as consumer prices fell
0.1 percent year-on-year, according to Eurostat flash estimates.
