-Michelin (Paris: FR0000121261 - news) , 0.85 or 1.45 percent higher at 59.28. The tyre maker said Wednesday it is raising prices of replacement tyres for cars and light trucks in China by 3 percent to 7 percent, effective in June, due to the strong rises in prices of raw materials
-Alstom (Paris: FR0010220475 - news) , up 1.78 or 1.19 percent at 151.09. The engineering group beat expectations with its full-year results and raised its guidance, prompting Cheuvreux to upgrade its recommendation to 'selected list' from 'outperform'
-M6, up 0.61 or 4.01 percent at 15.83. Exane BNP Paribas raised the broadcasting group to 'outperform' from 'neutral'
-Rhodia (Paris: FR0010479956 - news) , 1.11 or 8.19 percent higher at 14.66. The chemicals maker reported a sharp jump in first quarter operating profit from, to 40 million euros from a loss of 19 million euros a year ago
Major losers:
-Total, down 0.73 or 1.34 percent at 53.78. Analysts and dealers said the oil major's first quarter results were unimpressive compared to those of its sector peers
-Dexia (Brussels: DEXB.BR - news) , down 0.08 or 0.45 percent at 17.62. Lehman Brothers (NYSE: LEH - news) downgraded its recommendation to 'underweight' from 'equal-weight' and reduced its price target to 20.4 euros from 21.7
-Euler Hermes (Paris: FR0004254035 - news) , down 10.81 or 14.11 percent at 65.78. The credit insurer said net profit plunged 65.6 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier as the number of claims increased. Cheuvreux cut the stock to 'underperform' from 'outperform'
-Axa (Paris: FR0000120628 - news) , down 0.03 or 0.10 percent at 24.02. First quarter sales and new business margins showed disappointing progress and the upbeat outlook statement failed to reassure investors
