Major Gainers:
-Henkel (Xetra: 604840 - news) up 1.30 euros, or 4.62 percent, at 29.45, after the household goods manufacturer reported a a slump in first-quarter EBIT and sales, while showing a slight improvement on the bottomline as investors appeared to be rewarding figures that came in better than feared
-Infineon (Xetra: 623100 - news) up 0.16 euros, or 2.48 percent, at 6.63, as dealers said talk of a possible takeover from Intel (NASDAQ: INTC - news) and Samsung (000835.KS - news) as well as indications of chip price increases were helping the stock
-Continental (Frankfurt: A0SLLY - news) up 1.59 euros, or 2.04 percent, at 79.42
-Deutsche Boerse (Xetra: 581005 - news) up 1.21 euros, or 1.21 percent, at 101.63, after the stock exchange operator posted solid first-quarter
numbers last night, which showed good bottom line growth, while sales came in slightly lower than expectations.
-Commerzbank (Xetra: 803200 - news) , up 0.30 euros, or 1.29 percent, at 23.59, after the bank received mixed reviews from traders and analysts on the back of first-quarter figures with the slight majority saying the numbers came in a bit better than expected.

-Deutsche Post (Xetra: 555200 - news) down 0.83 euros or 3.96 percent at 20.11, as the stock traded ex-dividend after the mail carrier paid a 0.90 euro dividend to shareholders

-Metro (Xetra: 725750 - news) down 0.30 euros, or 0.59 percent, at 50.36
-Munich Re down 0.30 euros, or 0.24 percent at 124.70, under continued pressure after reinsurance peer Swiss Re (Virt-X: RUKN.VX - news) reported disappointing first-quarter numbers yesterday.
