Futura Medical says close to launch of erection-enhancing condom
LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Futura Medical Plc. said it will continue to make significant progress during the remainder of 2008 and beyond and that it is on the threshold of revenues from its CSD500 erection-enhancing condom.
'We have agreed with our commercial partner to focus on the launch of CSD500 first whilst continuing to develop the clinical and commercial strategy for FLD500 and MED2002,' said chairman William Potter.
Futura Medical (LSE: FUM.L - news) said the results of the clinical trial for CSD500 completed last summer have been accepted by the competent authority and that no further clinical trials are seen.
The condom is part of a related suite of products with the same active ingredient and commercial partner, Durex maker SSL International Plc. These products include the FLD500 female lubrication device and MED2002 topically applied gel for erection dysfunction.
The company said talks are underway on the commercial rights to topically applied pain relief product, TPR100, which uses its DermaSys trans-dermal delivery technology.
Futura Medical also said Anthony Clayden will step down as finance director at the end of May.
