BT profit dives 75 percent in third quarter
LONDON (AFP) - British telecoms operator BT Group (LSE: BT-A.L - news) on Thursday said net profits slumped 75 percent during its third quarter, skewed by an exceptional tax gain made the previous fiscal year.
Profit after tax dived to 365 million pounds (487 million euros, 712 million dollars) in the three months to December compared with 1.46 billion pounds in the third quarter of 2006-07, when the outcome was boosted by a tax credit worth 992 million pounds.
