NEW YORK, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Friday:

GENERAL ELECTRIC CO, $15.39, up 6.7 pct

Bernstein upgraded the Dow component to 'outperform' from 'market perform,'
seeing more upside across the company into 2011.

AMAZON.COM INC, $125.94, up 4.4 pct

Bernstein upgraded the online retailer to 'outperform' from 'market perform' and lifted its price target on the stock to $160 from $125.

AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP INC, $35.64, down 9.3 pct

The insurance company reported its second-straight quarterly profit, helped by recovery in the value of its investments, but its underlying business remained weak.

W&T OFFSHORE INC, $10.79, down 8.4 pct

Jefferies downgraded the company to 'hold' from 'buy,' seeing few near-term catalysts for the stock.

CVR ENERGY INC, $8.65, down 16 pct

The oil refiner and fertilizer maker said one of its major stockholders planned to cut its stake in the firm.

PMI GROUP INC, $2.38, up 6.7 pct

The mortgage insurance company reported a third-quarter loss that was narrower than expected while revenue rose slightly from the prior year.

BLACKSTONE GROUP LP, $14.93, up 7.6 pct

The private equity company reported a higher-than-expected third-quarter profit.

TRAVELERS COS INC, $51.79, up 2.3 pct

Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS - news) upgraded the Dow component to 'buy' from 'neutral,' expecting it to outperform over the next year on its balance sheet strength and capital management program.

STATE STREET CORP (NYSE: STT - news) , $41.93, down 2.1 pct

The company set aside an additional $250 million to cover claims by investors who lost money on risky mortgages. It also reduced its previously reported third-quarter results to reflect the larger reserve.

FORTRESS INVESTMENT GROUP LLC, $4.26, down 6.8 pct

The hedge fund and private quity company reported a third-quarter loss as management fees tracked a decline in total assets.

CBS CORP (NYSE: RBV - news) , $12.50, down 2.3 pct

The company late Thursday reported adjusted third-quarter earnings that beat expectations and revenue that was above consensus.

STARBUCKS CORP (NASDAQ: SBUX - news) , $20.98, up 6.5 pct

The company late Thursday raised its 2010 earnings outlook and reported a fourth-quarter profit that beat expectations.

VERISIGN INC, $22.81, down 4.9 pct

The company late Thursday swung to a third-quarter profit that beat expectations by a penny. It also forecast fourth-quarter revenue that was flat to up 2 percent on a sequential basis.
