UniCredit's Sofipa agrees to buy Switzerland's Riri

MILAN (Thomson Financial) - UniCredit SpA. said its private equity fund unit Sofipa Sgr has agreed to buy the whole of Switzerland-based Riri Group SA.

The agreement was signed on June 4 by FLF SpA., an investment holding company which is ultimately controlled by funds managed by Sofipa Sgr, UniCredit (Milan: UCG.MI - news) said.

Riri, which produces high quality zippers for luxury apparel and bags, as well as for sport apparel and technical equipment, had revenues of 42 million euros in 2007 and an EBITDA of 9 million.

Sofipa Sgr manages two closed-end private equity funds with a total of 254.2 million euros of assets under management.
