TABLE-UK shop price inflation +3.8% yy in Aug-BRC

LONDON, Sept 3 (Reuters) - British shop price inflation rose to a series high of 3.8 percent in August from 3.2 percent in July, British Retail Consortium data showed on Wednesday, as food prices surged an annual 10 percent.

The BRC rebased its series recently, making comparisons with early data difficult. The series began in 2006.
