UPDATE 1-Peace named StanChart chairman, to quit Experian
LONDON, July 1 (Reuters) - Asia-focused bank Standard Chartered (LSE: STAN.L - news) named John Peace as its permanent chairman, the bank said on Thursday, prompting him to step down as chairman of financial data company Experian (LSE: EXPN.L - news) .
Peace, 60, has been acting chairman at Standard Chartered since January, when Mervyn King stepped down at short notice to become a Treasury minister.
He will quit as chairman of Experian once a new chairman is appointed, and remain chairman of Burberry Group (LSE: BRBY.L - news) .
